A common thread running through most of the ET messages is that the Earth is on the verge of a dire catastrophe from which the aliens, as more highly evolved beings, can deliver us. All we have to do is open ourselves to their guidance, cast aside the apocalyptic prophecies of doom and embrace a new world of peace and universal brotherhood.

 While this may be the popular feel-good message, some reported alien encounters are far from pleasant.

 Indeed, as Whitley Strieber writes concerning his own experiences: The beings I was encountering were not the wise and benevolent creatures that films like Close Encounters might have led one to expect. They were absolutely devastating. Strieber recalls how he awoke in the middle of the night and felt a presence in his bedroom: I felt an absolutely indescribable sense of menace. It was hell on Earth to be there, and yet I could not move, could not cry out, and could not get away. I lay as still as death, suffering inner agonies. Whatever was there seemed so monstrously ugly, so filthy and dark and sinister. Of course they were demons. They had to be.

 Whitley Strieber went on to reject the idea that these sinister beings really could be demons. After all, in our enlightened age it is simply not acceptable to believe in supernatural evil. Equating the modern accounts of alien abduction with historic descriptions of demonic attacks is clearly not ufologically correct. Yet, as Anthony Roberts observed in The Dark Gods:

 The idea that the human race has been consistently plagued throughout its history by dark forces is of course not a new one. All religions make reference to the powers of evil and have elaborate hierarchies of spirits, angels and demons engaged in an endless struggle for mastery of the cosmic environment and incidentally, human destiny. The great pagan religions that preceded Christianity and Islam were all possessed of an intimate knowledge of these spiritual forces, categorizing them as gods and goddesses, fairies and elementals, and various personifications of the diverse energies of nature. Far back in the depths of so-called pre-history it is now known that the human race was aware of, and paid homage to, transcendent beings that existed outside the realms of temporal reality but manifested within it. All over the world these beings are variously represented among the detritus of religious experience, leaving a residue in philosophy, art, architecture and, most important of all, in the wondering souls of this planets most dominant life-form, humanity. In nearly every culture, past and present, the religious ethos consistently takes on a polarizing, dualistic form.

 Another famous alien abductee, Betty Andreasson Luca, whose case was the subject of investigation for more than two decades, related under hypnosis how she was told by her abductors that there are good and bad Watchers. She was warned that there are some who are against man, that will hurt man and destroy man.

 Regardless of the description of the alien beings, the scenario of the abduction phenomenon is fairly consistent. Abductees report having numerous medical procedures performed on them and more often than not receive information about future Earth changes. The beings sometimes refer to themselves as the Watchers, custodians, or guardians of mankind.

 The late Dr. J. Allen Hynek believed that these alien visitors may come from a parallel reality. Likewise, Professor Leo Sprinkle said: My guess is that they are more than just a physical phenomenon, that they are a psychic or spiritual phenomenon too.

 George Hunt Williamson, a friend of famous UFO contactee George Adamski and an early proponent of alien visitations, in his 1953 classic, Other Tongues - Other Flesh, wrote of negative forces coming to Earth from other planets. He warned: As time goes on, the anti-Christ or negative forces will become more powerful. This is a sure sign of the Second Coming. At the present time [1953], only projected intelligence into weak Earth minds is permitted. He called these evil aliens Serpent People, Anti-Christs, or Intruders, noting they all represent the same thing: negative polarity.

 In contrast to the Intruders, George Hunt Williamson highlights the positive role of space beings known as the Harvesters:

 The Harvesters are the occupants of the Flying Saucers and spacecraft coming to Earth at this time. Space visitors have always been with us! Since Miocene times, inhabitants of outer space have been surveying our Earth; they have watched its progression over thousands and even millions of years. At times, they have contacted various individuals who were dedicated souls, willing to serve God and fellow man. The reason they made themselves known generally over the world in 1947, is because this was the time for the Great Harvest.

 The Harvesters are sent to help us, offer us guidance, and instruct us in times of trouble. They are, George Hunt Williamson believed, divinely commissioned missionaries from a higher world.

 Williamson points out that the Bible is replete with references to other worlds (Gen. 6:2-4; Hebrews 1:2, 11:3; John 14:2) and that when the magnanimous space visitors came to Earth in ancient times they were termed angels [a word simply meaning Messengers] by human beings who interpreted their supernatural acts as a benevolent intervention by the Almighty God.

 A number of these angelic encounters seem to be associated with some type of UFO (the pillar of cloud and of fire, the clouds of heaven, the wheel in the sky, the chariot of fire). This is especially plausible when you consider that the Biblical reporters had no identifiable flying objects to use as a frame of reference other than birds, clouds and smoke.

 However, just as the Bible is replete with stories of contact with benevolent visitors from another world, so too it documents the existence of fallen angels, demons and malicious visitors. It follows that not all visitors are from God, and that many others are acting to misguide and deceive. The Bible leaves no doubt that while invisible forces, supernatural phenomena, and unseen guests are real, we must try the spirits whether they are of God (1 John 4:1).

 The first Christians believed that evil entities actually control our world. Jesus identified Satan as the prince of this world, while the apostle Paul wrote of evil principalities and powers dominating the world. Throughout the New Testament the Greek word translated as ruler, chief, magistrate or prince is Archon.

 The Gnostic Christians saw these Archons as fallen celestial beings, arrogant and boastful, who seek to keep human beings in illusion and bound on the material plane, in ignorance of the true God. The Archons, even though they may be descended from the true God, do not know Him and try to keep humans from reaching Him. Jesus the Christ defeated the Archons and broke their power over humanity by showing the Path back to the higher world of light.

 Benjamin Walker, in his book on the Gnostics, explains the Archons relationship to Man:

 There is a pantheon of sorts, a hierarchy of celestial beings, roughly divided into two classes: good angels, working for the upper world of light, and evil archons, working for the inferior world in which we live. Man is involved in the primordial duality that pervades the universe. He fell from the world of light where he had his origin, and is now entrapped in matter and in the clutches of the demiurge [Satan/Prince of the Word & Chief of the Archons].

 In our own time, most Christian authorities condemn all UFO and alien encounters as the deceptive work of the devil. Though there is a significant group of Christian preachers who see UFOs as messengers from God.

 One of Americas most prominent Pentecostal preachers, Dr. O.L.Jaggers, shocked his colleagues with the 1974 publication of UFOs And The Creatures That Fly Them.

 Dr. Jaggers links the appearance of unidentified flying objects with the judgements of God upon a wicked generation.

 With all this in mind, the words of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 21, verses 25-27, take on added meaning:

 There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; on earth nations in agony, bewildered by the clamour of the ocean and its waves; men dying of fear as they await what menaces the world, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin to take place, stand erect, hold your heads high, because your liberation is near at hand.

Do you want to be part of a world of sleeping people?

From the moment of birth every human being on Earth is asleep.

It is an undeniable fact that in the modem world the life of the average person lacks real direction and deep meaning. Despite all of contemporary society’s platitudes, human beings are persuaded, by various subtle methods, to do what they are told. Men and women are perpetually conditioned, cajoled, and blackmailed into a life of compromise and acceptance of the narrowest perceptions. The very nature of modern society demands that we voluntarily relinquish responsibility for our lives and actions. The world veils the mystery of existence.

Mankind does not know its purpose for being and now exists solely for material improvement and sense gratification. His whole educational system and ephemeral way of life is directed at economic advancement, social acceptance, vanity and false prestige.

Such is the state of Man’s ignorance in the current Dark Age.

Mere physical existence, mundane ‘day-to-day’ life, is meaningless! One’s highest ambition consists in participating in and obtaining final liberation from the bondage represented by the world and the sleeping human condition.

The purpose of life is spiritual enlightenment.

The proper beginning of Man is direct Knowledge (Gnosis) of the Divine, and the ultimate goal of Man is the ascent of the divine spark through the higher worlds of spiritual states, until his expanding consciousness and the grace of the Almighty God enables the inner True Being to attain the highest spiritual perfection: ONENESS with the ABSOLUTE.

Knowledge (Gnosis) is the salvation of the True Being.

What is Gnosis? Gnosis is an inner Awakening and a radical reorientation of life. Gnosis is a home coming, a restoration of an original state now lost. Gnosis is the marvellous realisation of knowing God as He is, and imparts freedom, joy and happiness as well as an expansion of awareness beyond any human words to express. Gnosis is the science of life that you live, rather than preach.

Life Science Fellowship, as a custodian of the ancient Gnostic Tradition, does not seek ‘believers’ or ‘followers.’ We are seeking collaborators, students seeking the divine light within.

Life Science Fellowship is not a religion, nor is it another church denomination, but a contemporary Gnostic school. We are not striving to appease an angry god through the observance of laws and sacrifices. Nor are we like the modern day scribes who spend their time vainly trying to interpret the scriptures. We realise all sacred scriptures can only help us to open ‘the book within,’ and make our lives living testimonies of truth.
