I was graced by the presence of an elderly man, Michael Valentine Zomorrow, in the early 90s. His gentle and loving countenance was the essence of what Heinlein (Stranger in a Strange Land) called... sharing water. He had many profound and simple acknowledgements that have helped my path to destination thinking and self-actualization. Here is one piece that I believe is worthy of repeating:
Friendly Advice
(Read aloud, soulfully. Repeat as you please.)
You who use this avenue to high power, you who draw juice from the zone of miracles, will be tempted, teased and tested as all heroes are...by dragons - the dragons of ego (first false, then true).
At the cusp of choice, only those who grok and remember that the path of the hero is "EGO becomes WEGO" will remain in the Garden of Delight. Those who choose to use these powers only for their personal will, have forgotten that it is those same personal wills that forged their present karma mirrors. For a permanent, dramatic improvement in your state of being, give up your will, early and often. (Light heart = soul art)
One virtue shines above all: the endless wrestling of self with self to become WE, gratefully, humbly, patiently.
Picture two blind giants - pride and vanity - walking backwards before us on the yellow brick road of life. They are gargoules whose vast stone wings deny us true sight: the criticism we need but don't want. They hide criticisms, whether needed or not, and isolate us from the truth that all "I"s are part of WE - that each part is part of a larger whole. One of the basic hero paths is to turn pride and vanity around to look for, welcome, cherish and use criticism.
Using high powers that belong to the whole human race, for personal goals only, rather than community and/or racial goals, is blasphemy. The goal of the human race is to evolve; to improve, to heal and whole the well of life, to love our whole show, even the worst.
Mythology, history and experience show that would-be heroes, who use the high powers for personal goals only, invite vivid bad luck. The real heroes, those who achieve their goals, greater than personal, earn vivid good luck, enter the zone of miracles and enjoy the Garden of Delight.
May you use this Well Spell, remembering at the cusp of choice, the path's past heroes, staring with Jesus Christ. The vaster your aim, the better your game, the more fruitful OUR gain.
